Doodlebug 30 Motor Stalls

#1
New Doodlebug owner here. My sister bought my stepson what appears to be an original DB30 without mods. I will say, I am not a motor head but, with help can likely make simple repairs.

My problem. The bike starts easy and idles just fine. After giving the bike throttle and allowing the throttle to snap back the motor stalls. Any thoughts on what I should check or adjust?

I am sure this is the first of many questions for the group.

Thank you!

Welcome to this great place.
I can only offer a few suggestions, there are outstanding small engine folks here.
I would start with the easiest stuff first. Find the engine-correct carburetor tech sheet out there somewhere. Adjust the fuel mixture(s) back to where it/they should be. I would guess its running high-speed rich. Once thats done, the problem should be fixed, look at the plug and maybe put in a new one.
After that, remove the gas, clean the tank and fuel line, replace the filter. Buy a new "no spill" gas can. Run whatever fuel the engine folks recommend.
This is just my take, hope this helps.
Have fun.
