H35-H40 Whats different

#2
Do you mean an hs40. I don’t think they made an h40 in 83 but I could be wrong. There was a big block h40 then way later in either 90s or 2000s they made a small block h40 Which had the exhaust intake ports opposite of hs40

i dont have any experience with tecumseh engines but i do know for a fact that briggs and stratton engines differ from 2-3 hp by using a different stroke, bore and or carburetor. youd be surprised how much power a 16th of an inch of bore can get you

Yes, should have worded that better. I have a 1983 HS40. Theres a 83 H35, or HS35 not sure as the ad for it only says H35 for sale near me i'm interested in.

Internally same stroke different bore. 2.625” compared to 2.500”. Externally the exhaust and intake are swapped but some h35’s will have the exhaust on the side instead of rear exit.
