healthkit 2speed keep or remove to 1speed????

isnt the whole point of a 2 speed to get more speed than one? If you want more top speed then just put on a smaller rear sprocket. then youll be able to reach a higher top speed and still have the 1st gear for good takeoff and low speed riding

What motor are you running on it ? I personally have a boonie with a clone on it.. and my sprocket sizes are 12, 12,14 72 . And it pulls like a horse and is pretty damn fast

If you are running a flat head Then you might just want to stick with the 2 speed

Out of lack of knowledge I got rid of the 2speed not knowing the info you guys provided, I'm currently runny a 5hp tecumseh witch pulls HARD but I just wanted to know if I made the right decision by gettting rid of the 2speed and I had the original Briggs but I left it at a lawnmower repair shop ALSO not knowing I could've restored it!!!!! :eek:ut::shrug:

that is the correct boonie jackshaft ,your missing the second gear assembly and sprocket.Don't get rid of it,see about going back and getting that original 5hp briggs back too from the shop you left it at if it is still there. Maybe with luck someday the parts you need will show up someplace and then you can get your 2 speed back together.this is what your missing on the shaft

I'm might eventually get the two speed back but for right now I'm going to make a chain tensioner with just the clutch and rear sprocket. My clutch keeps coming loose and I didn't really ride it. Idk if its the clutch/sprocket alignment

Been there done that.... you don't want to do that. Put the jack shaft on it at least. I've had 6 boonies And I've tried almost every configuration possible..... Because most of them are missing that piece.. And if you wont take my word for it I will definitely buy that off of you:laugh:
