How critical is using the correct carbs on Tecumseh engines? For instance can an H50 carb work on an HS40 and the other way around? I see some China carbs advertise it can be used on both HS40 & H50 but what about OEM carbs since they have different part #'s. Thanks
I don’t know if I can be much help on the OEM carb info, but I can verify that the reproduction carbs don’t seem to care it they’re on an HS40 or HS50.
Just my opinion, but as long as they have all 3 adjustments on them, I swap them around all the time.
(idle mixture, high speed on the bottom of the bowl and idle speed.)
