it was about 1962 when my dad gave me a book from his childhood. It was called "The Boy Mechanic". (copyright 1940)

I read this book cover to cover many times. Among the pages was a project called "Power Mouse - Speedy Motor Scooter" I saw that and knew I had to build it. Well, being about 8 years old it just wasn't going to happen. But I tried and tried over the next few years. :wink:

Maybe it's time to try again.

Cool idea!
With the right vintage parts (especially with an old 2 stroke, or 4 stroke), and a retro-colored paint job, that would be an awesome project.
{I like yellow and maroon, or aqua and white ... or heck, pick any old 1950'-60's car two-tone paint job}

I looked at the 1938-1945 Le Jay Manual project for an electric DIY version, cause they used Model T gen motors (still available) ,and I have an old Le Jay motor.
LeJay Manual

IMHO, using the right period motor and some careful craftsmanship (and fake aging) and it would take an expert to tell its not vintage. Good project with a loT of WOW factor when done.
Go for it!:thumbsup:
