What's the purpose of a jackshaft on a doodle bug?

Looking to buy a used db to drop my clone on.

Going to guess, motor(depending on model) are wider that where the clutch sprocket will line up to(or tires are wider, model dependent aswel), gear ratio might need to be tailored.

definitely. but a Predator doesn't really need it unless you do a lot of "yard" riding

Wouldn't a torque converter on a Predator set-up give good low end and better top end?
