lighting coil removal

#1
Does anyone have a good method of removing the square metal clips holding the lighting coils on the Tecumseh magneto? I tried to lightly pry them but I don't want to screw up the coils. Want to clean the laminations of rust and to dip the assembly I need to remove the coils.

i use a strong knife blade and pry on them till they pop off, most of the time they will come off with out cracking, but yeah you've seen they really have a good bite on the laminations. if you break one I have a few spares......

I wound up cutting them off with a dremel after stabbing my finger and thumb. I could use two if you would like to sell me them. Or where I can get them. Thanks!!

well got it all apart, cleaned up and started to assemble as much as I could. Replaced the wires and removed the old coil wire. Now have to wait for some silicone plug wire and the points and condenser to arrive. Need to find the coil holders.
