Looking for info on "The Cat: Duster MX" mini-bik

#1
I am working on fixing up a mini-bike that I have had for a while and am looking for more information about it and where to find parts. The label on the forks and clutch/chain cover say "The Cat" and "Duster MX" Does anyone have any information or history about this brand or particular bike? Thanks.

Hey Novi408, welcome to the forum.

Do you have any pictures of the bike? You can start by posting them in the photo album. That will give other users a chance to see what you have, and offer you any leads.

I'll dig through my info and see if I can come up with something for you.

Muskin Cat

I think I have stumbled across a company that sells new parts for Muskin Cat. Not sure, but rings a bell. I will do some digging and let you know if I find anything.

I haven't had a chance to look yet. I was doing some research on Arctic Cats last winter and stumbled across a company that was selling parts and new mini's. It's on my home computer. I will try and do some digging tonight. Tired Iron is on hold for right now. Sounds like the Father is not doing to good. Hope they come back around. I could use some parts from them myself. They really had a nice selection.

Re: Wrong bike

I was in there last weekend and they didn't have the brake and sprocket I need. If I can't find it (4" drum brake, 1 piece sprocket and drum), I may have to invest in a new wheel to fit a 4.5" brake and sprocket. Thanks.

Novi....I just looked at your pics..very cool bike...you need an internal drum brake and sprocket assembly I take it...i bought one from enginepowered ...its not 1 piece though...the sprocket is removable...mine came with a 72 and a 60 tooth sprocket...it was advertised as a cat muskin type brake....i put it on my heathkit...not the greatest brakes in town with a 18 inch tire...but it stops eventually.... :D

Thanks 8ball. I checked out enginepowered's store. They didn't have what I needed listed there, but I sent them a note to see if it is something that they stock. You are correct that I am looking for the internal drum brake and sprocket assembly. I suppose it really doesn't matter if I get a 1 piece setup or not, as long as it works. It is a 4" drum brake which I can't find anywhere. The drum itself is in decent shape, but the sprocket is worn out. Any brake at all would be better than what I have now. Thanks again for the help.
