Manco what?

#1
Hello all I just picked up this little Manco mini bike I couldn't find any numbers on it. However it did come with a HS50 engine. They guy wasn't sure if it's original or not.

Can anyone help me determine which Manco bike this would be and possibly the year?

its a manco streaker, now on the year, ya got me. I don't think they changed a lot on them over the years and pretty sure that hs50 isn't original. based on the look of those plastic fenders alone i'd say its from the 1990's-2000's

I think they came with 2.5-3 hp engines over the years, so yea a 5-6.5 should be a blast on that bike. post progress or finished pics up when you ge ta chance. There are also a few guys who sell the seats now on ebay pretty cheap with different colors/styles. AT least it has the cool manco mags on it, don't think the last versions came with those.

Awesome! This seat isn't terrible, but I'm the Summer they have mini bike drag racing which this could be fun with depending what motor I put in it. The tires looks fairly good a little dry. It has a scrub brake, the plastic fenders are in okay condition I have to see what I can do to get them cleaned up

Not the original engine. They were 3.5 (Tecumseh) to 4 HP (Subaru Robin) at the most. That thing is a minor classic minibike and almost complete. Be a shame to butcher it into a drag bike... unless you didn't mean serious drag racing.

You can determine the general time frame of your minibike from the dates on the parts manuals. I think the plastic fender bikes are from late 1990s to early 2000s.

Thanks! No definitely not going to butcher it. I planned on blasting the frame and getting it powder coated, clean the engine up, go through it and put it back in.

There's a place around me that has mini bike drag races it's only a few 100 feet and dirt with a few classes. I have a fox sprite frame that I have a similar motor I put in it to run in the vintage class

No sense in blasting the frame, just wash it/degrease it. Looks like original Manco red and pretty intact--you should just revel in its originality.

I was going to ask what the aftermarket 'pit bike' muffler sounded like but it's not running is it?
