For those of you who didn't look in the swap meet link, Here's some news!

Hey guys, I posted on the vintage minis site about this. I have set dates in late Sept for a trail ride/ campout weekend in southastern MO at St. Joe state park. Park Hills MO. Sept 23rd & 24th Sat. & Sun. They have nearly 2,000 acres of various terrain to ride on and an awsome campground with full hook ups and hot showers. Sites with electricity are $14 a night and it's $3 per day, per vehicle to ride.
Email me at barndawgracing707@charter.net for more info. or call me in the evening at 618-223-1236 or you can contact the webmaster of this site also.
We hope to have as many of you there as possible to make this a great sucsess for a first time event. to reserve campsites call 877-422-6766 or go to http://www.mostateparks.com/stjoe.htm
We will be posting more details on activities, drawings/give aways etc. in the weeks to come.
Warmest regards, Jim

MO rally

Sounds like a good time. I have marked it down for next year. Out of vacation for this year and my wife will be 8 months pregnant at that time. Hope you have a good turnout. There needs to be more events like this.

I've been thinking the same thing for quite some time roadking. That's why I decided to get something, anything going in this part of the country. I'm also into the vintage racing go karts and there are events all over the country for them. Fortunatly for me the largest event to date is just 2 1/2 hours from me which I've enjoyed for 5 straight years now. I doubt if the event I'm trying to get off the ground will compare to that or Windber, but I'll at least get some guys and thier old bikes out of the garage for a weekend and have some fun. Why else would we own and spend so much time on these toys of ours.
Next year might be at a different location. I'm going to check out a privately owned ATV park real close to Springfield Illinois. I believe they are going to be more open to an "Event" than a state park would be. I'll be sure to update everyone when I get the chance to talk with the owners and go ride there to check it out.
I really hope to see at least a handfull more coming to this trail ride. The place is beautiful and the campgrounds are practically new and have been recently expanded. Brandt from www.ruppparts.com and I went for a short visit there a couple weeks ago and I was amazed at how the campgrounds have been improved since my last visit a couple years ago.
Hey, good luck with the baby roadking, you & your wife are in my prayers. hope to see you next year.
Regards, BarnDawg

Camp out

Hey Barndawg
Stick with it and make the event enjoyable and it will grow from there. I was in a MC club for years that offered a similar venue for bikes. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication but it will grow if you offer an enjoyable event for the mass. Go into it well planned, people like to go to these types of events and have some structure. I'd like to have one here in MN but haven't found the right land.
Remember this, Sturgis started out with 12 bikers.

I'm looking forward to it! I hope there is a good turn out this year, and expect even more for next year. Eventually it would be good if a few more people could start organizing more of these events, so the people who can't travel much or live too far away to attend can have something like this near them!

Yeah, didn't Windber start out small also? I'm working on getting a better organized event together for next year and hope to have at least 100 or more in attendance there within 5 or 6 years. It would be nice to see these kinds of events or "Meets" gain more popularity. With the price of gas, maybe they'll let us start driving them to work. Ha Ha!
