Hey guys. I'm Mark and I'm from the Chicago suburbs. Just found this forum while searching for info on my old Aggie bike. What a find, this place is great!
Anyway, figured I'd give a little info on my bikes. I've got an old Aggie bike, I believe late 60's. It's been in my family since new. My dad got it when he was in junior high, passed in on to a cousin when he outgrew it, then got it back when I was born. Now I'm 26, dad's no longer with me, and holding onto the bike until I have a son to pass it on to. I decided to rebuild it, which is what led me here.
The To-Do list is-
Disassemble the bike, blast and powdercoat frame and handlebars
Polish the wheels and replace tires
Replace bent sprocket, new clutch, new chain
New throttle
Rebuild carb
Recover seat
I actually have the original owners manual, which will be helpful for the parts diagram. Very simple bike, regardless.
I also have a 1969 (I believe) honda Z50 that I've had for about 15 years. Unfortunately, it hasn't run in about 12! Rebuilding the carb and refurbishing the rusted out gas tank will be my project after the Aggie bike
Finally, I have another old frame and box of parts from a 60's Rupp minibike. This bike belonged to a longtime friend of my dad's. The two of them grew up together, and rode these very two minibikes (the Aggie and the Rupp) together 40 years ago! I have to dig the Rupp stuff out of the garage, but will take pics later.
Glad to be here and share my old treasures with fellow minibikers!
