No more Pontiac

Hey Randy

Ive always loved those Novas  gonna get me one someday. Maybe an early 62-64 and do a gasser. :eek:ut:

69 Chevelle SS for your first car! Lucky son of a :censure:, my fist car was an 80 Mercury Linx. Im lucky im still alive with the strut mounts all rusted out. I had to tie a rope between the struts to keep the wheels somewhat straight. LOL

Cool pics!

LOL, how many head gaskets did you go through in the escort? Don't get me wrong, I never had anything very nice to look at. But we always maneged to get power out of them. My Dad had a Salvage Yard so we where lucky when it came to cars that's for sure. And he was into racing and stuff like that so it was only natural for my brother and I to end up with some cool stuff.

Hell we would junk a car if it needed gas and something came in with a full tank. Or a good inspection sticker.
You would not even beleave the cars I've seen scraped.
One of my earliest recollections is Dad sending a 64 SS Impala through the crusher. I will never forget. It was hit in the Right 3/4 front. When I tell him that stuff today he just laughs because I used to fall in love with ALL the cars and ask him if I could have this one or that. I was 4 or 5. LOL.. Of course he has the same stories from when he was a kid, his Dad had a car lot and salvage and he has some stories to tell as-well.

Must have been cool to get to do all that as a kid. My dad was a GTO and i didnt get much time doing cool stuff. Kind of always had to do it on my own. He was a motorcycle mechanic, i always had a dirt bike. He also did spend some time with me working on the dirtbikes, so at least i got to learn some along the way.

Pontiac really hasn't made anything cool in a long time but it still saddens me to see it go. :sadcrying4:

Here's my first car. 84 T/A, saved it from the junkyard after it ate a telephone pole sandwich. It was a 5 speed with the 5 liter h.o. It's been through many changes over the 12 years I've owned it. Still my favorite one out of my cars.

Heh, I hate seeing the American companys die off.

My first car was a kick ass Buick Century,,, OH CRAP I still drive that pile:doah:

My goal is to drive it straight into the ground, but she still holds strong.

It is sad to see Pontiac go but it really hasn't been pontiac in a long time they stopped making there own engines and car designs, and just throw there badge and ugly "grand prix" frontend they can't seem to sway from, on good cars. examples are the recent Holden Monaro and commodore both are high selling high performance cars in Australia, then Pontiac gets there hands on them and turns them into bland(although high performance) grand prix looking cars. gm should just bring Holden here, while there at it bring Opel and Vauxhall to America to replace Saturn since that's what they are.
