Removing Govenor gear?

#1
When removing the govenor, would it matter if I left the gear in place. All other parts have removed. The reason i am asking is because I was practicing on a clone motor i have and the plactic gear broke it two as I was pulling it off. I then had to remove the flywheel to knock the shaft out because I couldn't get a good enough grip on it to pull it out. I know the flywheel will eventually have to come off anyways to advance the timing, but still wanted to knoe if anyone has lrft the gear in tact. What would it hurt, if anything?

If you want to remove it you will have to punch it out from the outside of the block. I will most likely stay in anyway with a mild motor.

I wouldn't take a chance on it. I just got a freebie Baha Heat/Warrior or one of the mini harley looking bikes with a 6.5 clone . The governor had been removed, but they left the gear. It came loose and took the skirts off the piston and trashed the cam. If you're not using it, get rid of it.
