Scrub brakes?

Hello everyone,
I have seen some discussuion on the forum about scrub brakes. This question may sound stupid but.. What are they? I knwo there brakes but what kind.
Are they just the band brakes like on go-karts?
If so does anyone have a picture of this setup?

its a plate that rubs on the tire and will wear down the tire i would go with a clutch brake

Well is there any other way besides a clutch brake? I mean I think a clutch brake would heat the clutch up a little to much?

Hi heres a nice clean way to do a clutch brake it is not heating the clutch up if you do it the right way it will stop you on a dime too

Hey kyle do you buy that plate that the brake is bolted to? or did you make that?

TheRedNova I made the plate but it wasnt to hard to do i made a cardboard templt first then cut it out of 1/8'' steel tig welded an 8grad bolt to hole the top of the brakeband and a peice with a set screw to hold the cable housing and a triangle shap gusit then had it powder coated little work but worth it
