So I purchased a new HF Clone and before I started the motor I was striping all the unwanted tin off and doing some painting. I pulled the valve cover and there was a waded up piece of Chinese newspaper between the rockers, I'm worried- is this what they use to quiet down noisy rockers?

one time i had an old ford farm truck with a bad rear end noise so we took of the cover put a zip lock bag of oil and a baked potato and it never made a noise again

What, you've never heard of jamming an engine full of newspaper before? It's done a lot at the drag strip when a racer is trying to get one more run out of an engine.

I'd expect innovation like that from a Chicom motor. Hey! But you got a great deal!
