Looks like a hs40 but might not be original. Got the chain guard nice! Looks like a 1971 shark or later from the tank. I think they came with the head and tail light.

It's a side pooper i beleive 3.5hp has a craftsman sticker on shroud but i found that it could've been sold at sears and labled with the sticker. Just curious is the 3.5 side pooper the engine they used

No, Highly doubt it. Speedways had exhaust headers that exit the rear of the bike under the seat.

no. That engine is not setup for recreational use, its was originally off some type of equipment and used a rear mounted fuel tank. Speedway didnt use side exhaust blocks, would have been a leg burner :eek:

It's a '71 shark and it should have a lighted Tecumseh h30. Find a vintage h35 with rear output exhaust then it'll look correct.

Thaks for the help ive found it hard to find information on them. I believe it has the lightd flywheel but having trouble getting it off to check. But i guess i have to find a h35 now. Thanks again for the help! Any ideas other then ebay for parts/ decals?

That exhaust on the brochure is not correct. The 1970 hard tails had the exact same exhaust that capgun cowboy posted. The 1971 hard tails used a black Taylor slant exhaust for left side rear exhaust. 1970 used straight intake with diaphragm carb but in 71 they changed to a slant intake with bowl carb so the brochure is wrong for the intake and carb too.

Thanks guys for all the help. Now i have to find a lighted h30, the bad parts is I had one 3 months ago and didn't need it and sold it. But i likebthe challenge of finding old parts.
