Tillotson HL314 Dbl. Stack Carburetor Question

#1
Is it possible to bypass the external fuel pump I currently have hooked up and run fuel directly into the carb inlet without using the "pulse line" inlet with the tank is positioned above the carb. {gravity fed}? If it is, do I just plug that inlet? Thanks!

Should be no prolem provided the correct gaskets are in place and the carb's own pulse-port is functioning....

The Spitler bike runs HL Tillotsons and draws fuel from a tank below the carbs

do you have a pic if the setup...?

I don't think you need that pulse pump....once the motor is primed should run with a fuel line directly from the bottom of the tank to the carb....try it!

Now this is all provided that the intake on that motor has a pulse port that matches up to the one in the carb...the diaphram in the carb should be able to draw the fuel up.

(yes cap off the pulse port at the intake manifold.)

Here's what I want to do... I've moved the tank to the top frame rail, above the carb.. Should I leave the line on the pulse inlet or block it off?

Definitely want to block that off, if you leave it like it is its going to have a massive intake leak lol
Thanks Rick!

Or better yet. Remove the nipple and get an Allen headed pipe plug to eliminate and leaks. Use liquid Teflon sealer, not tape...
Thanks Chad!
