Upgrade to 3.5HPmotor

Hi out there,

I am a newbie to the mini bike world. I just bought a DB at the portland swap meet and it came it with an extra motor. The motor is 3.5 hp briggs. I know most are upgrading to the clone motors but for the price I will start with bad boy. Anyone out there put one of these on and how did they like it? Any thoughts would be great.

it will be better than the 2.8.

I dont think theres any HP parts for the 3.5 but it will still get you around better than the stock motor.

welcome i put a 6hp tec flat head on my doodle bug and it goes pretty good.i am 200lbs and it pulls my butt around great, even my father at 300lbs its pretty funny to see him on it .i think it would do pretty good for awhile though you will be better off with the 3.5 instead of the 2.8 s.s. minnow johnson.let us know gunner&gasser

I put a Honda 4 HP on my sons DB30 with a standard clutch and if I back out the throttle limiter it tops out at 31 MPH and moves me well at 230 lbs. My son is able to climb up most steep hills with out any problem.
