Being a n00b around here makes it tough to know whats what. Thats where you guys come in. Someone please tell me what this is and if its worth 450 bucks.

He says its a 98cc engine and a rear disk brake. Id like this to be the base of my build. And of course i can ride it right away if its in running shape like he says.

Doodlebug, gotcha... Damn, i am torn between building one from a frame kit or an old frame versus getting one like this.

Building one will be way more expensive. But getting one like this one(not necessarily this one) and adding a bit to it might be more cost effective.

I have not seen even one that isnt junk for less than 400 bucks in the last few months of watching...

Best bet is to find a member with a good deal that will ship you one or can help you find one in your area.

Those bikes are not rare. Both of mine I bought for $100 each, complete and running, one not so good but...

In fact, I haven't paid more than $120 for a mini. yet....

I wish i knew how you did. Seriously, everyone i see the guy wants 400 bucks or more. Im talking ones that are running and are not trash.

You are about 2 hours from me, if you find one i would come up and pick it up.

There are a couple frames around here that i have seen. In that kind of shape too.

But what im having a problem with is how much money im going to have to dump into it to get something like that going. It will add up fast. Or am i missing something here?

Frame $100
Then an engine $200 roughly
Then im buying wheels, bearing, chain, cables, etc.....

Seems better to just get one that runs and then mod it to what i want.

$100 predator engine from harbor freight.

sand and paint wheels, $10
tires, should be less than $100.
still have money for mods than spending $450 for something then spend more to mod.

Ha! Thats awesome. Yea i think i may go the route you are talking. It would be more fun thats for sure. Im just seeing all these little things adding up in my head... but screw it. I'll start from scratch.

I would rather build it the way I want it, that to have to redo someone else's work. Their paint job is not worth the extra $300 for that bike in your original post.

I agree with you. I think i was looking at this from a perspective that ive had with cars. I get em and mod the hell out of them. I never built a car starting with just the frame. But these are not cars, are they?

I thank you for the input. Im gonna start with a frame
