Here's Boomer: He has his trophy. I have only seen 2 Beagles that can flat run down a rabbit. He got this one this morning, was quite a show to watch. I have seen Boomer take out 3 on foot, full bore, run them down. Boomer is almost 8 years old. He's a natural:thumbsup: He will parade this around for 5 minutes before it gets really ugly:shrug:
Thats pretty impressive. My old dog I had when I was a kid, he was an elkhound/border collie mix. He would try so hard to catch rabbits in my dad's back yard. He would see them, tear down the back steps, flat out run as hard as he could, and he'd usually trip over his own feet and tumble to a stop as the rabbit lazily hopped away.
He could however catch birds. He'd lay real still like, by his food bowl. Wait for the birds to get braver, then he'd slam his paw down on them. Pretty good show.
