From what I've always seen. Briggs and Stratton: Reliable, last a long time, and have a good history. Honda/Clones: Cheap (clones), fairly reliable, easy to make more power. Tec: Never really had good luck with them.... but that's just me.

A crankcase breather would not be necessary at that power level.
