well i replaced the old 6hp briggs for a 8hp with no issues plus it has a circuit alternator for lights and charging system. and about to start fixing up the other mountaineer i plan on rebuilding the 6hp engine but i also have a 7hp but rather find another 8hp which has better bearings and power.

I have the 1st generation 6hp b&s and just acquired a newer or last generation 8hp to replace the old 6hp in my tote goat. The 6hp has the down draft carb with a air vein governor and the 8hp has a side draft carb with a mechanical governor. My throttle setup on my 6hp has the spring loaded...
