Is there a way to ID Tecumseh engines without the ID tag? I bought a Rupp with the tag missing from the engine.

Anyone know what color codes were used on the early Rupps. Was told this is chopper style - and the original color was a purple color. Plan on sandblasting and painting or powdercoating the frame.

Why don't we have a sticky yet for Tecumseh paint codes? Since we only have to deal with 3 primary colors, and black, it should be easy. So, does anyone have a paint code for the Silver? Copper? White? And maybe Black... Not looking for the exact colors the factory used, since the old lead...

Here's some FYI: Beginning numbers 690-692 China 00-09 USA/Canada 30-37 France 40-41 Germany 471 Taiwan 49 Japan 50 UK So if you want to but other then China look for these codes as China is putting less and less Made in China on their products.
