1940's Vintage Briggs.....I think

I picked up this old Briggs at a flea market. The tank is pretty well shot and I'm not sure if it is missing the flywheel cover. It weighs a ton. I shot a little gas in the carb and it fired so I think there's hope for it.

Anybody know about the carb and it's adjustments? I've never worked on this old of one.

looks like it is missing the blower housing otherwise it couldn't cool itself. cool engine though, would make a great motor for a mad max insane style minibike.

It could be a model A or M. Can you post a photo of the carb or list the serial number?

Looks like a washing machine engine! does it have a kick starter on the left side or a one way clutch gear on the output shaft?
