3hp flywheel on 5hp motor?

so here is my question other thatn rpm's what would you gain?
do you loose torque?
I see many people putting billet flywheels on the bikes and some putting smaller(3hp on a 5hp motor) but why?

I believe this is done to free up RPM'S ,for instant power like using billet aluminum flywheel and rod, that lightens up the rotating asembly:smile: but im not sure about torque

so the only real purpose of going "lighter" would be for top end the bike I am building is more for hill and soft dirt so heavier would be better right??

the motor will wind up quicker with a lighter flywheel. they're more for top end though.

it's also a good idea to go with a billet flywheel and rod for safety if you aren't running a governor.

Reduces rotating mass to allow a faster throttle response.

I believe the key-way is cut in a different location & advances the timing.
