420 Chain

#1
I bought more chain than I needed, so I have an extra unopened box of EK 420 SR. Unlike my Chinese-quality chain which stretched an inch every mile I road it, this handles 15hp like a champ. I paid 22$, looking for most of that back.

EK 420 SR, Heavy Duty, 120 links for $20 shipped (Less than I paid). Great replacement for and fully compatible with 40/41 chain.

The chain is very-almost 5 feet long. The difference is 40 chain is 5/16" wide, and 420 is 1/4" wide. The baja seems to be all 1/4" (#40, #420) sprockets.

The real difference is in tensile strength:
#40 - 3700
#41 - 2100

#420 SR - 7700

The chain is very-almost 5 feet long. The difference is 40 chain is 5/16" wide, and 420 is 1/4" wide, but that's negligible, since most sprockets, even those labeled #40, are 1/4" sprockets. For both the stock baja sprocket and the 40-sized sprocket I replaced it with, the 420 chain slipped on.

The real difference is in tensile strength:
#40 - 2100
#41 - 3700
#420 SR - 7700
you have that backasswards.

#41 - 2100
#40 - 3700
#420 SR - 7700

41 is smaller than 40. weak chain. 40 fat and heavy. 420 is medium and much better quality designed for motorcycles if it fits you have the 420 sprocket. but make sure your drive sprocket isnt a real 40 wont fit that.

Yup, sorry about that, I had the strengths for #41 and #40 reversed. And I went out and checked my new sprocket and it's actually a #41, regardless of what I ordered. So you are right on two counts. Thanks!
