5 Briggs

#1
Hello,
Its been a while since I have posted last. And I have to say it has changed quite a bit!

I have a few questions on getting some more power out of my 5 HP Briggs engine.

Obviously there are a few that stand out such as a Header, Carb, Porting, ECT...

But I am needing help on a good cam selection.

I will not be running this engine on a Minibike. Oh no... This is for a mower!

My mower has a live axle 18 inch tires and Hydro. Disk brakes.

Anyway I am looking into a Dyno Camshaft. I do not have the machinery to do machine work or any thing fancy but would like to be able to drop in the cam and go.

Hope the day goes well for the rest of you guys!

Thanks,
5hpBriggs

If it's going on a mower that's going to be used as one, go with stock, it's optimised for the 3600rpms that the gov will try to manage to.

PS, don't try to run power equipment witout the gov unless you have 3 hands.

you know that 5HP will not have enough power for that mower even modified, you need at LEAST an 11hp on there to move that massive Craftsman frame. i have troubles with my craftsman's takeoff, and i have a modified 12 horse on mine!

Also, have you been on Heymow yet?
