5 H.P. Briggs

#1
I have a 5 horse briggs that just quit on me! I am getting no spark.I took the coil and flywheel off and there id what I believe an alternator under the flywheel. There was a lot of debris in there so I cleaned everything up and put it all back together, setting the air gap at .013 and I still have no spark.this is a model 133437-1050-E1.I didn't see any points or condensor anywhere,am I not looking in the right place,or do you think my problem is somewhere else.I did check the switch and it is o.k. Right now I am stumped. Thanks, for any ideas you can give me.

I'm showing that engine with electronic ignition, the stator under the flywheel is an alternator. The spark is controlled by the magneto above the flywheel, set your airgap down to .006-.008 and see if it sparks,if not and you know the sparkplug is good your magneto probably went bad.

Thanks,I will try that today...I checked on a new magneto and it's in stock and costs $40.00 so either way it won't break me to fix it.
