6.5 backfiring

replaced the key on a 6.5 intec 206 briggs scrapiron motor and it still backfires through the carb. I adjusted the valves 007 EX 004 IN , what did I do wrong?

It's got to be in the timing, or leaky valves. Your valve lash sounds real good, so it must be the timing. Now if your ignition timing is correct, then look at your crank gear to see if it's tight and haven't slipped, or cracked.

It can also be the easy start being broke? Never know til you check all.
