8hp briggs carb ????

i need to get a carb for my 8hp briggs. i would like a tillotson but dont have enough money for a big gas hog. so any suggestions ?

Check out your local scapyard. A carb from a similar displacement 4-cycle engine will do the job. Or a carb from a 2-cycle engine with about half the displacement of your 8hp (the briggs 8hp is 319cc IIRC). Check on snowmobiles, dirt bikes, four wheeler, etc. You will eventually find a nice carb at a very good price.

28mm or sligtly bigger would work.
There are always tillotson carbs on ebay, but most are alky.

i am, if still available.

i have been trying to rebuild two of them and i'm at my wits end. all they do is flood out on me.

at this point, i'm willing to try anything!!!!!!!
