This bike used to be the hottest thing on the market, they were just everyware, people loved them, they were cheep easy to mod and looked so much better with a bigger motor in the frame. It was a mistake updating this bike to the newer weird looking model because no one liked those and the company went under a few years later. Somone needs to bring this bike back!

Nice mods by the way I like it, looks good.

I definitely prefer the old 1st generation Doodlebugs as well. They’re traditional-looking (you might even call them legit “vintage” at this point), tall enough to easily accept most engines, and be a halfway comfortable ride for adults. However, they probably pivoted to selling newer low-slung frame styles, as they have lower seat heights that are easier for small kids to ride, plus look a bit more modern and trendy.
