Baja jackshaft mounting question

Today I got a couple of master links so I can install the chain. Clutch to jackshaft-no problem. Jackshaft to rear sprocket doesn't seem right. The front sprocket looks angled and with engine mount bolts loose doesn't seem to want to align straight. I am wondering if does the jackshaft assembly plate butt up to the engine mount tab on the inside or the outside?

I currently have it on the outside. I looked around for other pics and they look on the outside too. Mine seems to be straight.

can't tell much from photos..if it gets straight when on other side of that bracket I don't think it matters

I moved it to the other side and alighnment looks better. One factor I had was the bottom lower Chain guard mount was bent in a bit hitting the frame. I know there is an upgrade unit, but have to make do for now.
