I have a 3hp B&S motor i'm trying to put back together but can't figure out the springs on the throttle body. In the picture i've attached, you can see the spring on the top of the engine and where I think it is supposed to go. The right side of the spring was connected to where the arrow is pointing, what I'm confused about is where does the left side go. If I connect it to the location indicated:
1) The spring is pretty loose
2) The position of the throttle is closed as picture, if I attach a spring to the location indicated then would that contract and pull the throttle open, that doesn't seem right. I must be missing something.
3) When the throttle is relaxed, seems pretty clunky for a spring to push the throttle back to closed.
Right now there really isn't anything pulling the throttle back to a closed position, is there supposed to be a spring or something inside the casing? Maybe that's where the spring i have pictured goes?
