Briggs horizontal mounted on angle...

I made a scooter from a mountain bike, mounted a 43cc, but not enough power, I have a 5 hp briggs, and was wondering if it would work mounted on an angle on top of the mountain bikes swing arm in front of the rear wheel?

Also, do yopu think its too much power for the mountain bike set up I am talking about? (if necessary, i have pics)

The kart guys mount their Briggs engines anywhere from 5 to 30 degrees from "horizontal" in order to get clearance for the rear tire. I'm working on a scooter now that will have a 15 degree mount.
