Broncco with Tecumseh engine not running

I have a Broncco TX1 with a 4hp Tecumseh HS40. It will only start and run with starting fluid sprayed into the carb. It will start on the 1st pull no matter how long it sits and will run good as long as you give it a squirt of fluid every few seconds. Is the carb bad or could it not be getting enough fuel because it doesn't flow out the petcock a lot. It was just dripping out when I got it so I cleaned it out the best it can be and now flows better but still doesn't seem like a lot of gas flows out. Thanks

Take the carb totally apart and clean it. The factory jet may be clogged.

Can you choke the carb and gas comes through?

lightly sand the needle valve

This may sound kind of silly, but check your idle screw...

I did play around with the idle screw and got it to run for about a minute. Thanks
