Anybody make improvements to their carbs. I always mess with the Tecumseh carbs because there's always room for improvement. What kind of mods do you do and why?

Hmmm no reply's,I guess nobody fools with this stuff or don't want to share.I know Korndog is the guy to go to for Tillotson work,I have a 334WX that he worked his magic on.You might not think so but simple things done to the factory carbs does help.
I bet everybody does this, bend and file that little tange on the throttle to make the HS carb open all the way.

I take out the throttle and choke levers and file them thinner so the carb can flow more air.

You can't see it in the pics but @ the venturi location I take a small round file and smooth this area up.(it usually has parting lines that slow up incoming air through the carb.

There now show some pics of the things you do,I am curious.

Haaa. Crap pic, but it turned out nice. I'm going to freshen the motor and make a manifold before I can try it out.

Let us know how it works,I for one am curious.
Yes it is and i have put new points and condenser in it . The stumble is right off idle . Can the motor be updated to a new set up ? It is a lighted model .
Dave,I am not positive if an avon points eliminator can be installed into a Tecumseh engine with a lighting coil.I have thought about it but my points are in good working order so I never tried. If your points are all adjusted correctly and the right plug gaped correctly, valves seated properly then it has to be some gas related problem.Make sure fuel is getting to the carb unrestricted. If its not any of these than you probably have dirt somewhere in your carb causing the stumble.
