My question is do you have to mount the centrifugal clutch onto the engine shaft or can I take a chain from a sprocket on the engine shaft, down to the centrifugal clutch on a fixed bar with another chain to the axle sprocket.
yes you can but like they said the sprocket on the engine and jackshaft need to be the same size so the clutch turns the same speed as the engine. What parts are you working with? perhaps there is a better way to make what you have work that we can help you with
wow you guys r great thanks!! Jeep 2003 I have a Wisconsin motor and the shaft is 1 1/8 and i dont want to spend 299 or 399 on a centrifugal clutch that would fit that shaft so i thought i could do it the way i asked
