It was like a bicycle, would catch in 1 direction, freewheel in the other
Right…I believe it’s in the hub opposed to the sprocket. Like an old posi trac rear end.
Must be an automatic tranny of some type, judging by the gear ratio when the motor tranny are one to one that thing must scoot…pardon the pun.

Okay so I got the thing moving. I believe it's what's called a freewheel clutch. I sprayed the small gap between the bearing and the sprocket with Dub D 40 and let it sit overnight then shot some compressed air through there. Viola! Spins freely backwards but catches when rotated forward. I reinstalled onto the scooter, started her up and putted around the yard. The engine was blowing white smoke out of every orophus it has after 3 minute ride. Scratchin my head once again!
