clutch spacer

Is it necessary to use a spacer with a Predator clutch setup? I've seen it used on occasion and was wondering if it's really needed, or is it taken care of between the key way, set screws, and crank bolt?

Thank you.

I have only seen Briggs offer a spacer for a clutch mount. It is not needed on a predator. MaxTorque clutches is not real fond of the set screw idea if you can put a large washer on the PTO end and let the clutch "float" a bit. As long as the movement is not a bunch, you will be fine with just the keyway and crank bolt. What clutch are you running? Is is much narrower than the PTO length?

Thank you Car Play,
I will be using a Max-Torque clutch...although I haven't gotten it yet. So you're saying as long as there's some float to the clutch, I'll be fine, and no need to use a spacer...or set screws.

Thank you, too. Mr Raskin. That You Tube video explains what I need to know. You certainly can't have too much information, that's for sure.
