DB-30 engine swap

Ok, I have had the DB for a few months now. My daughter likes the Motovox. I would like to swap the motor on the DB-30. I weigh in at 230, and the motor is straining :sad: Any suggestions? HB has their 212cc on sale plus there is a coupon. Any thoughts? this would be for me and not my daughter.

you will not be dissapointed, although i am a llittle lighter 175lbs, it pulls great.

I don't have one in a DB30 but in a 69 Rupp roadster and it freaking tears me down the road pretty good! I'm 215

I have one on a bird and I weigh in at about 260. I have clocked myself on it with the GPS on my phone at 37mph and my engine is bone stock but I turned out the idle stop screw three full turns. You won't be dissappointed in the motor!

Like nike says, just do it. Consider the 2 year extended warranty for $20. more. Guy told me even if left the gas in it to turn bad they'd give me a new engine.

Also respect the power, it will toss you if you're not careful.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like I am picking one up, and I will get the warranty. It's cheap insurance.

ok yall i just signed up to the sight and it is awesome so much to learn.but i have a couple of questions i want to put a 7hp kohler command pro from tractor supply in my db30 doodlebug is is a good motor?and will i be able to use the stock db30 twist throttle on the koher.thanks ,shayne:shrug:

does it hurt anything if you turn out the throttle stop screw? i did mine a couple of turns, and it made a difference.
