DB30 for my Daughter

#1
I have an opportunity to purchase a two year old (stock) DB30 for 125.00.
I have not seen the bike, but was told that it is in "like new" condition. Is this a good deal? This would be for my daughter who turns eight in January. She currently loves to ride with Dad on the Baja MB165!

I'd buy it. I've driven 80-90 miles to buy a new DB30 for $259 + tax from Northern Tools before, and replaced the stock engine with a 6.5 "clone" from Harbor Freight a week later.

For $125 you can buy the bike, add a jackshaft kit from ProMod (around a 100 bucks) and have a nice little bike for your kid for less than I spent for one stock doodlebug. Hell, you (or your wife) could even ride it, too.

It's a lot more fun to ride together (on more than one bike) than it is for one to ride while others stand around and wait their turn....

I've done this exact thing and it's great. Riding together is cool but at 8yrs old, she needs her own ride dad. I have a 6yr daughter and an 8yr son. We ride all the time and they love it. Hell my kids and I race around the bases at the baseball fields by our house at night. After the games, the lights stay on for about an hour after the crowd leaves:scooter::scooter:

Buy it, teach her to ride with responsibility, teach her how to do the maintaince on it, spend that qaulity time with her. I have two DB's for my daughters 7 and 9, and they think I'm the best Dad ever. (now if I could just convince my wife... )
