Differential sealing?

#1
I’m adding dual chains to my dune cat. I have space on for both sides of the differential and jack shaft. I know it’s ‘ over kill’ but I like the look and makes it easier to square the jack shaft. (Had to change the jack shaft that was over 45 years old and was twisted 3/8’) along with a worn sprocket. I was told I had to reseal the bolts when I change them for 1/2” longer ones for the differential. what do I use to re seal the bolts?I don’t see any old rubber washers or ‘caulk’ on the original differential. I don’t plan on driving it in the mud or large water puddles.

Pictures, please?
If you are doing what I think you are doing...I don't understand the point.
Before I say anything else, please post a picture.
Grey RTV would probably work.
