Engine Identification

My first post here!! I have a 5 hp Tecumseh without a shroud/cover. How is identification done without having the shroud. Is there any method to determine model/serial numbers. In the future I may need to find some key components and may have trouble matching what I have.

If fishing was always easy it would be called catching!!

Post a picture of it and the mounting plate and you'll find it's a H50. The sears model # is 143-615062. Enter that in the search on the link I sent you and it will give you a blow up of the engine with part #s.
