hay im new to this site and to mini biking. i recently got a fox sprite frame ready to restore and it has what looks like a rear tire scuff pedel brake. not sure if thats what is for but its a pedal on the side of the frame that levers up towards the rear tire. ive tried to research pics of it and have found nothing. any answers?
The brake is called a Scrub brake... and it rubs directly on the tire. Some had a curved aluminum shoe, while others were simply a steel paddle. They work fine as long as the tires are dry. Fox brochures can be found at: http://minidoodle.com/id28.htm
