Mr K and Mr B’s blocks were on the fine faux wooden operating table this week. K’ just needed a shortblock rebuild B’s is in for full on build from boxes of parts engines he has sent down for me to pic through and create with
blasting work done and decks resurfaced I was ready to start measurung
Mr b’s later aluminum block didn’t look as bad as it was. I actuall questioned my bore gage at first but it was not lying. This shows at .010” over you can see I still was not making contact in the center where the piston rocks and eats! Scratch lines still showed as well in spots…..keep cutting
took it to .0
For Mr K’s 1969 steel bore it had some out of round from wear as well as some stains and pits form rings rusting and seizing on the bore from sitting. Got it done with just a .010” over.
B’s will be worked on later along with an HS40 of his as well but I finished K’s and got it dropped at the shipper today.
