Ken, the Shortster was a 1972 model that was produced in 1971 & 1972. There should be a serial number on the frame and the engine. Here is the serial number info Aermacchi Serial Numbers - Charleston Custom Cycle

Great looking bike. I have a 75 x90 I am thinking about restoring. Im in need of an exhaust pipe and headlight. Are there any parts houses that have these or ebay the only option? My motor needs to be completely rebuild, any ideas who on the West Coast is a go to source on rebuilding these motors?

Use my parts sources that are listed. Check ebay every day and Craigslist, the parts will turn up eventually. Also look around for a donor parts bike.
