Project farm on youtube did a great video on heli-coils. Seems they are much stronger then aluminum threads.
I and others have had constant trouble keeping the exhaust from rattling loose. After a few times it wipes out the block threads.
In his video the bolts threaded into aluminum stripped easy. Bolts threaded into heli-coils broke the bolt head off. After the broken bolt was extracted the coil was still in good shape.
I’m gonna try them out to see if there any help in keeping the exhaust/intake tight to the block. They are extremely easy to install.
