Hilliard Clutch Sprocket Wear?

#1
Anybody else have problems with a Hilliard clutch sprocket wearing out like this?

I thought maybe an alignment issue, but I checked the rear sprocket and the clutch sprocket alignment with a straight edge and it looked good. When you look at it the teeth do look evenly wore down.

Is this a common problem? Or is there another issue I am overlooking? I'm stumped myself.

Chain stretch would cause the teeth to ride on the rollers more in turn wearing out the teeth on your clutch faster. A quality chain properly maintained will last longer than a cheap chain never maintained

I'll have to check out the chain. I keep it lubricated regular but it is a cheap princess auto chain. Thanks for the help.

I didn't mean to imply you didn't maintain your chain. And actually I said what I meant to say backwards. A cheap well maintained chain can outlast a poorly maintained quality chain.

But still just looking at the wear, I'd say its time for a new chain
