HS40 Valves

Doing my first complete engine build on a HS40. Do these valves look right. The valves are new,engine block is new but the lifters are not and neither is the cam. The space seems to large. I will get a larger feeler gauge set tonight but wanted some opinions. Thanks-Mike

I think the proper gap is .06 to .08

That looks like it might be a little more, but it's hard to say for sure.

correction to my above post, it's supposed to be:

.004" or .102mm for the intake

.008" or .203mm for the exhaust

Almost looks like the exhaust valve is sitting above the seat, or the seat's not ground. If these are the correct valves, someone is going to have to cut the seats. Those lifters/cam don't wear "that" much. Almost looks like the wrong valves.

The gap is .048. I will try to find another valve. Does anyone have the correct valve to measure and share a picture of?

Verified that it is the right valve. Both the block and the valve is new. How do you cut the seat? All help is appreciated.
