HS50 carb leaks

Hi there. I have a Sprocket minibike that I just finished building a 1976 HS50 tek engine for it. The problem I am having is the carb wants to leak fuel out of this tiny hole in the side of the carb when tilted to the left side, looks like it is peeing, lol. Can I plug this hole and get away with it? Thanks.

no thats the fuel over flow plug that and youll have a world of problems .

They do that when the bowl seat is bad,.. Replace it and your good.

By "bowl seat", do you mean the float bowl gasket or the float needle and seat? If the needle and seat were bad the carb would leak all the time, right?

Kinda the same theroie if you were to plug the fuel cap vent, but in the carb bowl area instead!

Yes I mean the needle&seat...sometimes they just need the tab on the float itself to be bent so the float doesn't raise up to high before it stops fuel flow.
If that isnt it the seat is bad.
